Surveys Are Coming.

Hey Travelers!

We know you've been waiting for this update. We've teamed up with BackerKit to handle our surveys. Over the course of the next few days, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email! It can take up to a week for all the surveys to come through.

It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards. You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

Production Has Begun!

Hey Travel Team!

We've been liaising with our factories and are happy to say we have finally placed an order and production has begun! We should be expecting a pre-production sample in the next week or so, and are now working to send you guys fulfilment surveys to get your shipping info next week as well.

One little fun story we'd like to share is how it was challenging to even transfer the production deposit across seas. Because it was a large sum of money, we had to personally head down to Chinatown to register at a remittance service - only to discover that we couldn't transfer such a large sum of cash out of our bank in one shot, so we had to do it multiple times. We even found out that we could make a transfer before midnight, and again after midnight. Combining that with another internet transfer, we managed to get it settled - though it really felt like running all over the city in an evening. 

All that said - we just want you to know that we've been working hard to get the production started so we can all get our bags asap, and every movement of ours counts towards that.

Funded, And We're Just Getting Started!

We have to admit it felt a little different waking up this morning. For the past month, we've been monitoring the campaign each morning, trying to get the word out, and then spend the rest of the day working things out with our factories. Today was a little different.

The past 24 hours were incredibly exciting for the team. We desperately wanted to hit our 100k stretch goal as it would allow us to make a much better product, but we were still a fair bit away. To be honest, there were times where we felt we wouldn't make it. But while were out there pulling all the stops, you guys here reminded us about why we chose to start our brand here with you guys. Check out the comments below:

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. You guys are absolutely amazing. Never in our wildest dreams could we think up of such an initiative, and we are tremendously touched by your support. A dollar may not seem like much, but we're absolutely sure that every single dollar counts in our books.

That's why moving forward, we are going to focus fully on production and getting you guys the best product out, as soon as possible.

The next few days will be about confirming the final order and specs with the factory, and we are committed to continue updating you with the progress along the way.

To us, the journey has only just begun. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for joining us.

Lab Test #2 Results! Onto our last STRETCH!

Short Update: The results are back from our lab tests and we've found an upgraded rip-stop exterior that will make the bag slash-resistant. We now need your help to spread the word so we can can unlock the upgrade.

For those interested, here are the specific details.

• We went beyond real world simulation and exerted serious force on the bags for our tests. We ended up slashing through 4 of our 7 prototypes to date. This was painful for us to watch.
• We are happy to report back that we've found a material that we're satisfied with. 
• 3 out of the 7 prototypes were slash resistant, and we will select the top material choice if we manage to unlock the stretch goal.
• Out of all 7 bags, the interior layer of fabric was not slashed through in a single stroke. Our conclusion is that this layer of fabric is key to the bag's security.

We've got 62 hours left to unlock our stretch goal at 100k. What seemed to be a distant goal is now within our grasp, and we really hope that with your help we'll get there.

We're pulling all the stops on our end, and if you could just help to spread the word to just one more person - we know it would mean so much to everyone else in the Travelab community we've built here over the past couple of days. Thank you so much!

1,000 Backers And Gaining Momentum!

When we first launched our campaign 26 days ago, we were a little nervous. A little anxious. We had made a product that we loved, and wanted to share it with others who loved to travel. But we weren't entirely sure if that was something that they wanted.

When we got our first pledge, our heats went racing up and down. It felt awesome to know that someone else out there believed that we were making something to improve their travelling experiences. To make it that bit more efficient, safe, and enjoyable.

This weekend, we got to multiply that feeling by ONE THOUSAND. Perhaps that's enough to send our hearts racing across the Annapurna range, or across the tracks of the trans siberian railway. But the destination doesn't matter. What matters is you who helped us get there.
